Workshop: Letters and Emails and Texts, Oh My! Correspondence as a Narrative Device
From Shakespeare's plays and Jane Austen's novels to Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding, correspondence has long been an indispensable literary device.

Using some of her favourite literary extracts and her own work, writing coach, Joanna Norland, will guide you to use letters to reveal character and progress plot. A series of fun exercises lead to a 50-word epistolary story challenge. You can even submit your story to one of Joanna's favourite microfiction forums before you leave.

Length: Two hours. Participants are welcome to remain for an additional hour to write further and confer with Joanna.

Testimonials:
"Recommended for anyone who needs unravelling and de-muddling." - Sarah Massini, award-winning author-illustrator.

"Joanna has a clear communication style which made the concepts easy to understand and apply . . . I highly recommend Joanna’s workshop and look forward to working with her again!” - Liz Lemarchand, professional coach, stand-up comic and author"
